Shooting on Fakiren fra Bilbao, the new film by Peter Flinth, is due to start in the Fyn region of Denmark at the start of September. Flinth is the director of The Olsen Gang Jr, the successful sequel (in a version made for children) of the most famous cinematographic series in Denmark.
In fact, the Danish Film Institute has provided financial support for the film to the tune of DKR 6.9m, around Euro 929,500, (according to the distribution quota of 40% state funding to 60% private financing), and it is co-producing the film, together with Tivi Magnusson and Mie Andreasen’s M & M Productions.
The film is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Bjaren Reuter, published in 1997, and the screenplay is by Mette Heeno. Fakiren fra Bilbao is about the adventures of a pair of twins involved in a mysterious case with magic connotations.
The film will be released in 2004, distributed by Sandrew Metronome Danmark A/S.
