Arcipelago, Rome’s celebrated short film festival opens its doors to the public today for the 11th consecutive year (check out the programme on Tamtamcinema). This year’s highlights include a number of films by Peter Mullan, winner of the Golden Lion at Venice 2002 for The Magdalene Sisters [+see also:

film profile] and the festival will open with a retrospective of Pappi Corsicato’s documentaries about art. A special highlight will be the screening of Marco Bellocchio’s Notes for a film about Uncle Vanja starring his son, Pier Giorgio.
