PRODUCTION Belgiun

Made in NRW

by

The Northern Westphalia Film Institute and Düsseldorf-based Antenne MEDIA organised an important co-production meeting called Made in NRW on 19-20 June. The aim was to encourage film coproduction between Germany, France and Benelux.
Belgium presented the following three projects : Confiture to be directed by Lieven Debrauwer, and produced by Dominique Janne’s K-Line with support from the French Community of Belgium, Vlaamse Gemeenschap, French and Dutch companies. It is about a man who walks out on his wife of fifty years and stars Ann Peterson, who graced Lieven Debrauwer’s directorial feature debut, Pauline & Paulette.
The second project is A côté de Jésus, the directorial feature of Tania Malo, best known for her short films entitled Trois hommes et un chien and Jeux de miroir. Malo’s Belgian production slate, Sol Ange Films is co-producing this title with France and Bulgaria. The third film showcased at Made in NRW is Vendredi et Robinson by Yvan Le Moine and produced by his AA Les Film Belges (Belgium) and Les Films de L’Artisan (France), again with support from the French Community of Belgium and MEDIA Development. The film is scheduled to go into production in October on location on the Island of Reunion and comes five years after Le Moine’s directorial feature debut entitled Le nain rouge and is based on one of Michel Tournier’s most celebrated novels, "Vendredi ou les limbes du Pacifique".
