Romanian writer-director Hadrian Marcu is set to start shooting his feature debut on location in Romania later this month. A Decent Man [+see also:

 (original title: Un om la locul lui, working title: Shadow & Dream) follows thirty-something Petru, who works as a drilling engineer in a closed and remote community of oil workers. He leads a double life – he lives with his girlfriend but has an affair with a colleague. When the latter loses her leg in a workplace accident, Petru’s life starts to get complicated.

). A Decent Man is being produced by Anamaria Antoci through her company 4 Proof Film, and is being co-produced by Klaudia Śmieja and Beata Rzeźniczak (of Polish outfit Madants). Both Antoci and Śmieja participated in the Cannes Producers on the Move programme in 2016, and they previously worked together on Illegitimate, which premiered in the Berlinale Forum in 2016 and has since screened at a host of European festivals.

A Decent Man received financial support from the Romanian Film Centre and is set for a 2018 release. The international rights are available.
