Grisebach’s modern western is about a group of German construction workers in a village near the border between Bulgaria and Greece, where the men begin to compete for recognition and favours from the local villagers. In the drama Gabriel and the Mountain, a student travels the world as a backpacker for one year. When he goes to Africa, he decides to venture deeper, heading off on his own for a journey across numerous countries, forging new friendships and experiencing raw emotions.

In Los Perros, a 42-year-old member of the upper class begins an affair with her riding instructor, a former cavalry officer. For the first time, she’s directly confronted with the outrages of the dictatorship, and her increasing interest threatens to tear down the invisible walls protecting her family from the past. A secret affair also kicks off the story in the Israeli drama The Cakemaker by Ofir Raul Graizer. A German baker who had an affair with a married Israeli man who dies in a car crash goes to Jerusalem and starts working for his lover’s widow.
