VAF helps 22 projects

The Vlaams Audiovisual Fund (VAF) announced its latest series of grants to 22 new Belgian films. The VAF board selected them from the 49 presented on 1 July, when it established the entity of the respective grants for both development and screenwriting.
Six feature film projects will benefit with grants of between Euros50,000 and Euros625,000. They include two first films: Belhorizon by Inès Rabadan, produced by Daniel Van Avermaet of Phantom Films and Denis Delcampe of Need Productions, and La vraie vie by Bouli Lanners, produced by Antonino Lombardo’s Prime Time.
Other production fund beneficiaries are Confituur, the second feature by Lieven Debrauwer and produced by Dominique Janne of K-Line, Ellektra by Rudolf Mestdagh and produced by his Cosmo-Kino and by Jacques-Henri Bonckaert’s Versus Production, actress Yolande Moreau’s ) Sale Affaire, produced by Stromboli Pictures, and Vendredi & Robinson by Yvan Le Moine, produced by his AA Les Films Belges slate and by Cosmo-Kino.

The following titles will receive development support: two features, Cala Luna by Guido Henderickx, produced by Prime Time and The Colour of Water by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, produced by The Ice House.
VAF assigned two screenwriting grants to The Journey by Vanja d’Alcantara and Miss Montigny by Miel Van Hoogenbernt, produced by Jean-Claude Van Rijckeghem’s A Private View and Diane Elbaum’s Entre Chien et Loup. Nine shorts, two of which are animated and two experimental films will also receive money.
