Domestic does well
With attendance for local productions for the first six months of this year at 71,000, January-June 2003 will go down in the history books as a record year for Norwegian cinema.
Top of the league is The Olsen Gang Jr under water, with a reported box office gross of Euros2.9m, out performing blockbusters like The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (8,000 tickets) and the latest 007, Die Another Day.
Norwegian children’s films also did extremely well: Pelle Politibil - 4.200 tickets was overall 4th, with Wolf Summer and its 3.900 tickets and a box office take of Euros 1,9m over 18 weeks sixth.
Despite a slight drop off this weekend, both Wolf Summer and The Olsen Gang Jr are still in the top fifteen – respectively, in 11th and 12th position.
