, was selected for the 56th Locarno Film Festival (6-16 August 2003).

The film will be screened outdoors on the giant 364 m. sq. screen situated in Locarno’s 7,000-seat Piazza Grande, a significant step forward for the Belgian film industry since the last local title to receive a similar honour was Toto le héros by Jaco Van Dormael. The selection of Barman’s film also reflects this year’s policy at Locarno of combining cinema with music.
Anyway the Wind Blows was also selected for Vancouver, Stockholm and Utrecht. International sales are also doing well. To date Holland, the UK and Switzerland have picked up the title. Anyway the Wind Blows was seen by over 40,000 Belgian filmgoers over a 4-week period, an exceptional result especially when compared to the 37,000 tickets that the Dardenne brothers’ The Son sold.
