Event cinema marketplace Cineplace to be launched internationally

- The international launch of the centralised platform for the event cinema industry will take place at CinemaCon in Las Vegas later this month
Operas, ballet shows, stage plays, music concerts, art exhibitions and even marathons seem to be attracting broader audiences when they are presented as an event at the cinema. This phenomenon, known as event cinema, already accounts for 3% of the overall cinema box office and has the potential to grow even further. At the upcoming CinemaCon in Las Vegas (which unspools from 23-26 April), Cineplace, a centralised platform for the event cinema industry, will be launched internationally.
The Cineplace platform connects cinemas and content creators, providing both with the tools to ensure that every event displayed at the cinema has the very best chance of success. The online platform enables exhibitors to gain access to a library of available event cinema content. At this one-stop shop, distributors have their own profiles and events have their own detailed pages.
Cineplace also acts as a destination for anyone wishing to host or distribute an event. A smart data tool helps to ensure that every event is placed in the right location with the appropriate audience located nearby. The platform provides the industry with specific event information so that smarter distribution decisions can be made. Powered by Facebook, Twitter and a number of geo-demographic targeting tools, the smart data tool is a special feature that allows the user to profile the type of audience that should be reached, both demographically and geographically speaking.
By teaming up with partners such as Gruvi, Powster and MovieXchange, Cineplace makes it possible to track the success of different events on a weekly basis. It even provides users with a list of cinemas where their event is most likely to succeed.
