Links between the Spanish and Italian film industries are growing stronger by the day. After co-producing Gabriele Salvatores’ I’m Not Scared and Sergio Castellitto’s forthcoming second feature, Non ti muovere [+see also:

(based on the Strega Award-winning novel by Castellitto’s wife, Margaret Mazzantini), Francisco Ramos’ >Alquimia Cinema has embarked upon another joint venture with Riccardo Tozzi’s Cattleya to make Occhi di Cristallo (Glass Eyes) by Eros Puglielli. Rai Cinema also guaranteed the €2.5m budget project.
Occhi di Cristallo, Puglielli’s fourth feature, is a thriller based on Luca Fulvio’s “The Taxidermist”, about a policemen who must face up to some unsavoury aspects of his past in order to capture a dangerous criminal.
Canal+ España has already bought the rights to Occhi di Cristallo and the film will be made on location in Bulgaria starting on 4 August, with a cast headed by Luigi Lo Cascio, and Lucia Gimenez, Carmelo Gòmez, Ana Fernandez and Eusebio Porcela
