The comedy tells the story of the seductive Fred (Giampaolo Morelli), tech guy Diego (Herbert Ballerina) and their narcoleptic apprentice Paolo (Paolo Ruffini), all of whom work for a diabolical yet brilliant agency that provides alibis to its clients under the motto "better a beautiful lie than an ugly truth." Fred falls in love with Clio (Alessandra Mastronardi), a champion of sincerity at all costs, resulting in his inability to reveal what he does for a living. The situation becomes more complicated when Fred discovers that Clio's father, Alberto (Massimo Ghini) is a client of his and has turned to the agency for help in hiding a getaway with his young lover Cinzia (Diana Del Buffalo) from his wife Irene (Carla Signoris). However, due to a lack of attention on Alberto's part, Carla, Clio, Alberto and Cinzia all accidentally end up on holiday together in an explosive situation.

Produced by Roberto Sessa for Picomedia in collaboration with Medusa Film, Bugiardi received financial support from Apulia Film Fund and Apulia Film Commission and will be distributed by Medusa Film.
