Excellent news for Belgian cinema. Tom Barman’s hit directorial feature debut, Any Way the Wind Blows [+see also:

was selected for the European competition at the forthcoming Montreal World Film Festival (27 August- 7 September). The news was given at Locarno, where the title will have its international premiere.

Not only is Any Way the Wind Blows a major domestic box office success story, it was also invited to three major film events: Stockholm (in competition), Bergen and Vancouver, and will also open the Flemish programme at Utrecht in September, followed by release in Holland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom before the year is out.
Montreal also selected another Belgian title: J'ai toujours voulu être une sainte by Geneviève Mersch, and produced by Artémis Production, Média Services and Samsa Film (Luxembourg) with a screenplay by Philippe Blasband.
