Having just benefited from a substantial budget increase that will allow for the organisation of an additional annual financing session (read our interview), the Wallimage regional fund has just announced the results of its 91st funding session, with a majority of Belgian projects, which was not always previously customary.

The fund will support the first feature film by young director Laura Wandel. Spotted at Cannes in 2014 with her short film Les Corps étrangers, she returns with La Naissance des arbres, a 100% Belgian project produced by the company Dragons Films.

, discovered at Venice Film Festival in 2012, Marc-Henri Wajnberg is about to shoot his new feature, an ambitious project in more ways than one. The Perfect Movie follows the story of Ben who, having failed to find financing for his film, applies the Hollywood rules for the "perfect film" to the letter. The film will be produced by the director's company, Wajnbrosse Production, and co-produced in Romania by Imagine8 Stories.

This session also marks the return of François Pirot. After his first feature, Mobile Home [+see also:

, released in 2012, François Pirot turned to documentary cinema, with Eurovillage. He’s back on the scene with La Vie dans les Bois, which will be produced by Tarantula, and co-produced by Good Fortune Films in France.

Wallimage will also be supporting two documentaries,  L’Aumônier et le Nazi by Idriss Gabel and Marie Calvas (produced by Agent Double), and L’Ecole de l’impossible by Thierry Michel, who is focusing on his next project after filming the documentary Children of Chance [+see also:

. The project was also produced by Christine Pireaux for Les Films de la Passerelle.

It's worth noting that Wallimage will finally be financing Musique de chambre, Christophe Honoré's new film starring Chiara Mastroianni, Vincent Lacoste and Camille Cottin, produced in France by Les Films Pelléas and co-produced in Belgium by Scope Pictures, as well as two animated series, Kid Lucky and Hello Charlie.
