After four consecutive years of a Bulgarian feature winning the Sofia City of Film Grand Prix Award at the Sofia International Film Festival (7-17 March), a Romanian title has broken with tradition: Marius Olteanu's first feature Monsters. [+see also:

 won the festival's top prize during a gala hosted on Saturday evening by the National Palace of Culture in Sofia.

Meanwhile, the jury, consisting of British producer Nik Powell, Russian producer Stas Namin, Turkish actress Hazar Ergüçlü, Polish director Ewa Podgórska and Bulgarian director Ilian Metev, handed the Special Jury Award to Dragomir Sholev's The Pig [+see also:
