A dozen projects in the works

The Irish film industry is enjoying a very busy production schedule with no less than eight feature films in production (including the animated version of Moby Dick), two films in post-production and two in pre-production.
Among the films in production is the biggest budget project ever shot in Ireland: the €90m World 2000/Touchstone Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer Pictures co-production of King Arthur shooting until November this year. Also on the highest end is the Intermedia Films/Hell's Kitchen €30m film Laws of Attraction with Pierce Brosnan and Julianne Moore which just finished production.
Fintan Connolly’s romantic comedy Bite produced by Fubar Productions started filming in July, Margo Harkin’s Are You Looking At Me, a Besom Productions has just finished shooting while three other projects are just beginning their shoot: Lakeshore Productions’ The Blackwater Lightship, Treasure Films’s Man About Dog directed by Paddy Breathnach, and Starfish, a low budget film directed by Stephen Kane.
In post-production are the IFB’s ultra-low budget project Dead Meat and Octagon and Granada Films’ The Return.
Octagon also has two other projects in pre-production: Damian O’Donnell’s Inside I’m Dancing and Tristan & Isolde.
