ON RELEASE Belgium

Vrebos’s 1001 nights

by

The film The Emperor's Wife, the new work by Julien Vrebos (Le Bal masqué), is out on release in Belgium cinemas from today. The director has created a story out of time, a sort of 1001 nights where everything is run by a rigid set of rules. These include one imposed on the Emperor, who has to choose a new wife if the Empress doesn’t produce an heir within seven years.

It was made in English and boasts an international cast including performances by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Max Beesley (who also did the soundtrack), Rosanna Pastor, Leticia Dolera and Johnny de Mol.
The film is produced by Emjay Rechsteiner (Staccato Films - Netherlands), San Fu Maltha (Fu Works – the Netherlands), Jason Piette and Michael Cowan (Spice Factory – Britain), Julien Vrebos (Terras – Belgium) and Jimmy de Brabant (Delux Productions – Luxembourg). 11 copies of The Emperor's Wife are being distributed in Belgium by Cinéart.
