A love triangle
Shooting on La Femme de Gilles, the third feature length film by the Belgium director Frédéric Fonteyne (Max et Bobo, A Pornographic Affair, ) began yesterday. Two houses and a country garden have been specially built in Luxembourg as a set for the film.
The work is an adaptation of the book by Madeleine Bourdouxhe published in 1937, and once again the script for the film has been written by the director, together with Philippe Blasband, in collaboration with Marion Hänsel. The story is set in the '30s in a working class environment. Elisa is married to Gilles, and she has a happy life until the day she starts to have doubts, that soon become certainties, and her world is turned upside down: Gilles is having an affair with Victorine. The main parts are played by Emmanuelle Devos, Clovis Cornillac and Laura Smet.
La Femme de Gilles is a European production that marks the launch of a new French offshoot of the Belgium firm Artémis Productions: Liaison Cinématographique. Patrick Quinet’s two companies are producing this film together with Claude Waringo (Samsa Film - Luxembourg), Christophe Rossignon (Nord-Ouest Production - France), Andrea Occhipinti (Eyescreen - Italy), Rolf Schmid (Fama film - Switzerland) and Stephan Quinet (Wallonie Média Services - Belgium).
