The story, written by Caroline Vignal, revolves around Antoinette, who has spent the last few months eagerly awaiting the summer and the promise of a romantic week with her lover, Vladimir. But at the last minute, he cancels, as his wife has booked a family hike in the Cévennes mountains – with a donkey! Left by the wayside, on the spur of the moment Antoinette also decides to leave and sets off on the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail. When she arrives, there’s no sign of Vladimir, but she does come across a certain Patrick – a stubborn donkey (no one’s perfect!) that will accompany her on her unusual journey...
