San Sebastián’s Glocal in Progress selects films shot in Albanian, Romanian and Catalan

The San Sebastián International Film Festival is still willing to support films at the post-production stage made in any European language besides English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian, and will celebrate this year the third edition of its industry activity dedicated to this, Glocal in Progress. The selection that will be presented during the 67th edition of the festival (20-28 September) includes the first features by Kosovo’s More Raça and Spain’s Pau Cruanyes & Gerard Vidal as well as the new film by Romania’s Andrei Gruzsniczki.

Kosovo’s More Raça, who participated in Berlinale Talents 2019 and already has three shorts to her name, shows the difficult situation of a long-term unemployed man in Kosovo in Andromeda Galaxy [+see also:

had a successful international festival run, signs in Emil a tale of mourning and ghosts in a small Romanian hamlet, with touches of black humour. Lastly, Catalan filmmakers Pau Cruanyes and Gerard Vidal explore in their first feature film, Yesterday’s Two Nights [+see also:

, the reaction of three youngsters to the sudden death of a close friend. The duo co-helmed the short film Celebración, awarded at Sitges in 2016.

Glocal in Progress will run on September 23, 24 and 25, coinciding with Films in Progress 36 and with the VIII Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum.
