Moving Docs pushes Push across Europe

Moving Docs, an initiative involving 20 screening partners managed by the European Documentary Network and supported by Creative Europe, has announced that its partners will be releasing Fredrik Gertten's award-winning documentary Push [+see also:

in ten countries across Europe this autumn and winter. The film world-premiered at CPH:DOX, where it picked up the Politiken Audience Award.

Push is being distributed across Europe in cinemas, at festivals and on online platforms, through the Moving Docs network in ten countries. It has already screened in Poland (Against Gravity), Germany (DOK.Fest Munich), Sweden (Doc Lounge) and Cyprus (the Lemesos International Documentary Festival).

In Scotland, it screened in September at Take One Action, and in October, it is travelling to Slovenia through Demiurg (8 October), Greece through CineDoc (9 October) and Spain through Documentary of the Month at DocsBarcelona Del Mes, followed by screenings throughout the country until the end of the month (the full list can be found here).

In November, Five Stars Film Distribution will launch it in Serbia, and in December, Autlook Filmsales, which also handles the international rights, will distribute it in Austria.

The network creates and shares social-media content with its partner networks, including original articles, animated images, film clips, unused film sequences, and video interviews with directors and protagonists. For example, for Push, Moving Docs, in collaboration with WG Films, produced four promotional videos with teasers and interviews with the director and protagonists. Moving Docs supports up to ten new-release documentaries each year to help bring powerful European documentary films to screens, combining event cinema with innovative online distribution. It selects creative European feature-length and issue-based documentaries (for the full list, click here), and organises pan-European documentary outreach campaigns and event screenings in Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Finland, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and the UK.
