The Hollywood director, Kevin Reynolds (Waterworld) is in Galway in Ireland for four weeks shooting on his new feature film, Tristan and Isolde starring Sophia Myles, James Franco, Dexter Fletcher and Rufus Sewell.
The film is produced by Octagon Films, which already co-produced Reynold’s previous epic, The Count of Monte Cristo.
Octagon Films was set up in 2001 by two leading Irish producers, Morgan O’Sullivan from World 2000 and James Flynn, from Metropolitan Films. They have joined forces with the veteran German producer Willi Baer and his partner, Winfred Hamacher from the Essen-based W2 company, to develop and produce films for the international market place.
Octagon’s next project will be Damien O’Donnell’s first Irish feature: Inside I’m Dancing, which starts shooting early October.
