MIDPOINT Writers’ Room announces its selection

As announced a couple of months ago (see the news), MIDPOINT, the leading training and networking platform that has focused on series development since 2015, has introduced a new TV writing-focused programme: the Writers’ Room. The brand-new programme, which will run for four days from 4-9 November in Prague, has announced its first-ever ten participants.

The workshop, led by two tutors, will offer practical training on how to organise a writers’ room. Hungarian creative executive and MIDPOINT TV Launch head of studies Gabor Krigler will offer a European perspective, while his fellow tutor, American executive producer and consultant Maggie Murphy, will tackle the US take on a writers’ room. Furthermore, the tutors will offer a series of lectures, which will also be open to the general public, examining the various elements that combine to form a great pilot in order to hook the audience, and discussing the most powerful and most vital parts of a pilot script – the beginning and the end. Furthermore, the mystery of how to organise a writers’ room will also be looked at in detail.
