Course for European operators

The second edition of the training programme for European cinema operators with the title "European Cinema Exhibition: A New Approach" will start tomorrow in Rome, at the AGIS offices in the city. The event will be continuing until September 28 and the course is promoted by MEDIA Salles in collaboration with ANEC, the Association of Italian Cinema Operators, the EFC, European Film College, and DB, the association of Danish Operators.

The subjects included in the course include an overview of the current situation of cinema operations, the consumer market for European cinema, vertical integration, digital cinema, and marketing in theatres. There will also be discussions about a survey giving an overview of the film promotions run during the summer season, also compared with experimental campaigns already carried out in some European countries.

More than 60 operators from all over Europe will be taking part in the course, including representatives from France, Norway, Ireland and Greece. There will also be a delegation from Hungary attending the event with a view to looking at the organisation of the next edition of the training course, which will be taking place in Budapest in the autumn of 2004.
