Penned by Pierre Salvadori and his usual writing partner Benoît Graffin, the story begins in a small Corsican town where 12-year-olds Cat, Fouad, Antoine and Manu have hatched a plan: to set fire to the Chambon Factory which is polluting the most beautiful river around. Every initiative is put to the vote, but constant ties put pay to any action. So the little band decide to hire a 5th associate to resolve the problem, and, to his great surprise, eternal loner Aimé is chosen. Upon his arrival, things start to move quickly… and become incredibly complicated!

Produced by Philippe Martin and David Thion for Les Films Pelléas (a group who’ve worked on all of Salvadori’s feature films, since 1993’s Cible émouvante), La Petite Bande will be co-produced by France 2 Cinéma. Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the title will also benefit from an advance on receipts from the CNC. Filming will run from 10 August to 10 November in Corsica, with Julien Poupard helming photography. French distribution will be entrusted to Gaumont while international sales will be steered by Wild Bunch.
