A plethora of films and events

by

Luxembourg is also taking part in Cinedays 2003, with the aim of strengthening the interest in European films for Luxembourg audiences. Two institutions will be taking part in this year’s Cinedays programme: the company Utopia and the Luxembourg Municipal Film Library. In addition, the Minister for Communications, François Biltgen, has also opened the 3rd Luxembourg Film Week, which ends on October 10. The event aims to promote national productions and facilitate their international distribution, and there are more than 40 films on the programme.
On October 9, the Film Library will be putting on a tribute to the director from Luxembourg, Gordian Troeller, who died in March. October 10 is the date for the award of the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis (Luxembourg Film prizes) , which reward the best contributions to national cinematography. The European Commissioner, Viviane Reding, is very enthusiastic and supportive of the fact that Luxembourg will be making its own contribution to Cinedays 2003.
