A group of established fiction writers, two actors and a story that spans only a few minutes are the main ingredients of the Canal+ Poland original production The Writers. Short Series. After a successful first season, which was nominated for the Short Form Competition Award during the third edition of CANNESERIES, the second instalment is already in production. “The nomination shows that freshness and playing with form attracts attention and proves we are ‘doing it right’. I am very glad that, regardless of the pandemic, we were able to create new episodes of the series,” said Alicja Gancarz, movie channels director at Canal+ Poland.

In contrast, the first season starred Maciej Stuhr and Magdalena Cielecka (United States of Love [+see also:

“This project gives me an opportunity to play a variety of characters. Taking on such a wide range and playing with genres is a tempting challenge,” said Wichłacz in a press release. Maślona added that, for him, it’s also an interesting opportunity to clash with “nine different worlds, senses of humour and perspectives on reality”.

The Writers. Short Series is scheduled to be broadcast in 2021. Canal+ Poland is currently shooting two other series: Clangor and The Raven. So Dark in Here, season two.
