In En nous, the director re-connects with the protagonists populating his first feature, Nous, princesses de Clèves, reporting back, ten years later, on the paths they have taken in today’s society. At the time, the stories of Abou, Morgane, Laura, Cadiatou, Jacques and Armelle intersected with that of Emmanuelle; she was their French teacher at the Denis Diderot Lycée, which serves Marseille’s northern quarters. Together, they took part in a film uncovering their dreams, desires and fears. Even then, they sensed that freedom, egality and fraternity were empty words from a slogan which had gone up in smoke. They meet up again in the present film, and their memories merge with the tales they tell of their lives and the obstacles which they are still obliged to overcome whilst trying not to lose hope of finding their place in society - the Princess of Clèves’ statement, "I’m fully aware that there’s nothing harder than what I’m trying to do", really rings true.

Produced by Thomas Ordonneau on behalf of Shellac, En nous is co-produced and pre-purchased by Arte France Cinéma, and further benefits from an advance on receipts granted by the CNC. Distribution in France is steered by Shellac, as are international sales, with the film scheduled to be ready for spring 2021.
