The 2021 edition of the FÍS TV Summit announces its full schedule

It’s time once again for the FÍS TV Summit. The 2021 edition of the conference will take place online from 25-28 January owing to the current health crisis.

The event’s offering is designed to support and connect the Irish television community in light of what has been a very challenging time, but will still deliver the key, flagship moments that have become integral to the industry’s calendar, including an array of speakers, case studies and panel sessions revolving around the theme of “Knowing Your Audience”.

In detail, this year’s programme will include contributions from renowned professionals, such as Amazon Studios’ Georgia Brown, showrunner Jed Mercurio, story expert John Yorke, ZDF’s Yi Qiao, the BBC’s Tommy Bulfin, Channel 5’s Daniel Louw, Acorn TV’s Katherine Mackin, ITV’s Huw Kennait Jones and Freemantle’s Jamie Lynn. The sessions will mainly focus on the Irish TV landscape and the Asian market. You can find the full schedule of the event here.

The FÍS TV Summit is being organised by the Galway Film Centre in partnership with Screen Ireland and TG4, with support from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), Gréasán na Meán Skillnet, Screen Skills Ireland, the local Creative Europe MEDIA Desk, GMIT and the WRAP Fund.

Later in February, the FÍS TV Summit, in association with MediaXchange, will host the FÍS Project Clinic. Here, up to eight projects will be selected to receive the unique opportunity of a free one-to-one session with John Yorke, who will provide critical feedback on the participants’ editorial materials and offer focused advice on potential improvements to make their project market-ready. The clinic will take place virtually from 24-26 February.
