Vodka Lemon goes through

Armenia has chosen the film Vodka Lemon by the Kurdish Iraqi filmmaker, Hiner Saleem, as its official entry for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film.

The film is produced by the French company Dulcine Films in collaboration with Italy (Sintra Film), Switzerland (Amka Films) and Armenia (Paradise) and with the support of Arte France Cinéma. It was presented at the recent 2003 Venice Film Festival where it won the main prize for Best Film in the Controcorrente section.
Vodka lemon is the delicate love story between a widow and a widower in a tiny village buried in deepest, snow-drenched post-soviet Armenia. World sales of the film are being handled by f for film and it will be out in Italy (Lady Film ) in November, followed by a theatrical release in Swizterland. Negotiations are currently underway for distribution in France, the UK, the USA and Sweden.
