For the first time ever, two South American series are also part of the selection: the Argentinian HBO production Amongst Men and The Last Days of Gilda from Brazil. Moreover, Philly D.A., a US production by Oscar-nominated duo Josh Penn and Michael Gottwald, is the first documentary series to be invited into the programme.

Meanwhile, Screendaily reports that Accredited press delegates to the online Berlinale will be able to watch festival films on a dedicated platform separate from the one designed for the industry.

Me and the Others, split into six 40-minute episodes, is an absurdist satire which explores the questions: what is the relationship between “I” and “the others”, and what would change if you could define the rules of the game at will? The series stars Tom Schilling, Sophie Rois, Martin Wuttke, Lars Eidinger and Katharina Schüttler.

It's a Sin, consisting of five 48-minute episodes, is a touching series about an irresistible group of friends from the London gay scene who face the beginnings of HIV in the 1980s. Directed by Peter Hoar, it stars Olly Alexander, Neil Patrick Harris, Stephen Fry, Keeley Hawes, Nathaniel Curtis, Lydia West, Callum Scott Howells and Omari Douglas.

Snow Angels, directed by Anna Zackrisson and starring Josefin Asplund, Eva Melander, Maria Rossing, Ardalan Esmaili and Cecilia Nilsson, follows the disappearance of a five-week old baby at Christmastime which plunges the child’s mother Jenni into despair and brings police officer Alice onto the scene. It consists of six 58-minute episodes.
