Written by Emmanuel Mouret and Pierre Giraud, the story centres on a single mother and a married man who become lovers. They have agreed to only meet up for the purposes of a physical affair without any prospect of love, knowing full well their relationship would have no future. But they find themselves more and more surprised by how well they get on, their sense of complicity and the well-being they feel in each other’s company…

Produced by Frédéric Niedermayer on behalf of Moby Dick Films (the director’s faithful companion on all his film journeys), Diary of a Fleeting Affairhas been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, and enjoys the support of the Ile-de-France and PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) regions, where the seven-week film shoot will unfold until 8 June, with Laurent Desmet at the wheel of photography (nominated for the César in his speciality in 2019 and 2021 for his work on Emmanuel Mouret’s last two films). Likewise backed by the SOFICA companies La Banque Postale Image and Indéfilms, the feature film will be distributed in France by Pyramide and sold worldwide by Kinology.

For the record, Moby Dick Films is currently overseeing post-production on A Woman [+see also:
