Written by Csoma, the script delves into the true story of famous mountaineer Zsolt Erőss, the first Hungarian to ever climb Everest and who disappeared in the Himalaya in 2013. The film takes place during the days following his disappearance and focuses on his widow, Hilda Sterczer, who had always supported him and whose grieving process is weighed down by her determination to preserve her husband’s heritage in the face of the public’s expectations and the media’s attacks.

Produced by Claudia Sümeghy and Tamas Yvan Topolánszky for JUNO11 Pictures, Heights and Depths is co-produced by Judit Romwalter for Sparks Camera & Lighting. Additional support comes from Hungary’s National Film Institute as part of the Incubator programme, the feature will benefit from 28 days of shooting, first until 23 May, and then from 4 to 17 October in Hungary (in Budapest, Szentendre and Gödöllő) and in the Austrian Alps (in Dachstein), with Levente Tóth as DoP. Hungarian distribution and international sales are in advanced negotiations.
