, Walkabout) will reprise her role as Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Waterbury from The Railway Children, made in 1970 by Lionel Jeffries, who also wrote the screenplay adaptation of Edith Nesbit's celebrated novel. The British family favourite tells the story of three children who move with their mother to Yorkshire, where they attempt to discover the reason for their father's disappearance. The Railway Children is a key title in StudioCanal's celebrated Vintage Classics collection.

Nesbit's novel, published in 1906, has been adapted for the screen several times, but the 1970 version starring Agutter remains the most enduringly popular.

) and a new generation of Railway Children will also star in The Railway Children Return, written by BAFTA laureate Danny Brocklehurst. The Railway Children Return is being billed as an enchanting adventure for a new generation, bringing a contemporary sensibility to a classic story and combining the British cast with stunning locations. The film will take audiences on an exciting and heart-warming journey, in which a group of children are evacuated to a Yorkshire village during World War II, where they encounter a young soldier who, like them, is far away from home…

Produced by BAFTA winner Jemma Rodgers for the UK's StudioCanal, The Railway Children Return is scheduled to open in UK cinemas on 1 April 2022.
