Almost two years since the Full Circle Lab Upper Rhine (see the news), Tatino Films is launching a new Full Circle Lab, this time focusing on the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France. Directed by Matthieu Darras, the new development programme supports six projects throughout their development, post-production and promotional phases in order to enhance their creative vision and to foster their international potential. In detail, the first edition of Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine is expecting to host four film projects currently at the scriptwriting stage, which will attend the Script Lab set to run as two residential workshops – the first in August at La Maison Forte in Monbalen and the second in November in the TAP – Théâtre Auditorium Poitiers. Furthermore, two film projects that are in the editing phase, and which have previously been supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, will attend a workshop that adheres to the format used by First Cut Lab. According to the plan, the deadline for submissions is 21 June, and the selected projects will be announced by 12 July. All of the details and information can be found here.

Regarding the tutors and mentors for the first edition, confirmed names include Philippe Barrière, scriptwriter and script consultant (Made in Bangladesh [+see also:

Matthieu Darras, CEO of Tatino Films, mentioned: “We are particularly excited to be initiating a new Full Circle Lab, which will have strong roots in a region of France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, that has demonstrated in recent years its ambition and dynamism in terms of film policy. We will aim to create synergies between different initiatives (residencies, festivals, incubators, forums and so on) taking place all over the territory, and be of benefit to the filmmakers and producers active in the region, all the while remaining very international at heart. In particular, Nouvelle-Aquitaine has fostered direct collaborations with filmmakers from Europe, Latin America and Africa, and we will definitely be looking forward to such projects along with French ones.”

Also, Noémie Benayoun, project manager at ALCA, and Hervé Bonnet, director of the BAT47 Filming Office, added: “We are very enthusiastic about proposing a new support programme for filmmakers and producers, either from our territories or from outside the region, yet willing to cooperate with professionals from Nouvelle-Aquitaine.” The Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine is financially supported by the Agency ALCA Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the cultural agency for publishing and cinema in the region; and the Lot-et-Garonne Department Council, which is active in the cinema industry, specifically through the activities of the BAT47 Filming Office. The lab has initially been agreed for a three-year period from 2021-2023.
