The 6x45 untitled series is inspired by business reporters Sven Carlsson and Jonas Leijonhufvud's 2019 book Spotify Untold. At the height of piracy, established heavy hitters were fighting against the direction in which the turbulent music industry was heading. The series centres around young, Swedish tech entrepreneur Daniel Ek (portrayed by Edvin Endre, of the Vikings fame, and seen in films such as Eddie the Eagle [+see also:

) and his key partners, who revolutionised a whole industry by offering free and legal streamed music around the world. It’s a story about how strong convictions, unrelenting determination, access and big dreams can help small players challenge the status quo by changing the mode by which we listen to music. The story is penned by a team of writers headed up by Christian Spurrier.

Other key cast members are Ulf Stenberg (as Per Sundin), Gizem Erdogan (as Petra Hansson), Joel Lützow (as Andreas Ehn) and Christian Hillborg (as Martin Lorentzon).

The series, which recently entered production, is being staged by Yellow Bird UK, a Banijay Group company. Netflix will launch it globally next year. The producing team includes producer Eiffel Mattsson, development producer Luke Franklin and executive producer Berna Levin.
