Titan Pictures are to produce a new film by Aisling Walsh (Forgive and Forget, Joyriders) about the Spanish Civil War entitled Song for a raggy boy. Based on the novel by Ireland's Patrick Galvin, the film will star Irish-American actor Aidan Quinn (Legends of the Fall, Desperately Seeking Susan and Ian Glen (Tomb Raider). The film is scheduled to go into production in July on location in Cork and will be released in the autumn of 2003.
Raggy Boy is the story of a man who takes on a teaching job in an Irish home for juvenile delinquents after having fought on the side of the Republicans during the Spanish Civil War, and witnessed the murders of his lover and best friend.
