New talents at Huy

by

The International Festival of Film Schools at Huy (FIDEC) starts today and is set to be a real hotbed for new talent. FIDEC, which continues until October 26, will be screening around 30 films sent in from the most important film schools around the world. The jury is made up of Claude Duty, Sabrina Leurquin, Eric de Starcke, Frédéric Lavigne and Stéphane Auberghen, and they have to choose the best film out of the 28 works in competition. These include Procter by Joachim Trier (Britain), El Hombre del Saco by Miguel Angel Vivas (Spain), Nightfall by Thomas Bjerregaard (Denmark), La Milpa by Patricia Riggen (USA), Café Nova by Christoph Kellner (Germany), Myaso by Slava Ross (Russia) and Loin des yeux by Serge Mirzabekiantz (Belgium). There will a special screening where the French director Claude Duty (Hypnotised and Hysterical (Hairstylist Wanted), Bed and Breakfast) will be presenting some of his short films. 5 of the films that won awards last year will also be shown in a special screening.
