The Ponta Lopud Film Festival unveils its programme for professionals

The second edition of the Ponta Lopud Festival takes place from 22-27 June 2022 on the island of Lopud, Croatia. The festival is a creative hub that organises invite-only master classes and lectures given by the greatest filmmakers working today, specifically tailored for Southeast European directors, actors and cinematographers from the new generation. The gathering creates opportunities for regional rising stars to meet with top film professionals and talk about cinema, visual art and the “art of living” that has been practised in the region for centuries. The founders of the Ponta Lopud Festival are Miro Purivatra, former director and founder of the Sarajevo Film Festival, and Tilda Grossel Bogdanovic from the island of Lopud.

This year’s edition brings top-quality acting and directing master classes that will be held by multiple Oscar-winning masters Frances McDormand and Joel Coen, who will share their rich professional experience with participants and reconstruct some of their greatest films.

“Frances McDormand and Joel Coen have enriched film art with their amazing work and achievements. We are privileged that they will come to Lopud, and share their creativity and invaluable experience of filmmaking with talents from our region,” said Purivatra.

In addition to these two master classes, the festival will organise special lectures held by award-winning director Juho Kuosmanen, producer Peter Spears and talent agent Brian Swardstrom. Added value for this year’s edition comes in the form of conversations between masters and participants moderated by special guests: directors Pawel Pawlikowski, Michel Franco, Lili Horvat, Danis Tanovic and Ognjen Glavonic.
