Eleven film projects that are currently in post-production, and which hail from Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean region, will be featured in the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival’s Agora Docs in Progress. This year’s iteration will unspool on Monday 6 March, and the projects will be seen by Thessaloniki’s invited industry professionals, encompassing sales agents, distributors, producers and festival programmers, attending both on site and online.

The Docs in Progress international jury consists of sales agent Maëlle Guenegues (CAT&Docs); Laurien ten Houten, industry relations and talks manager at IDFA; and Greek distributor Ilias Georgiopoulos (Danaos Cinema and Danaos Films). The participating projects will be in with a chance of winning one of the Agora Docs in Progress post-production awards: the 2|35 post-production company offers the main DiP Award for post-production services, MuSou offers a prize for music and sound services, and the Greek Film Centre provides an award of €3,000 in cash for a Greek project or a Greek co-production, while Neaniko Plano will present a prize for subtitling in English or French. The Onassis Film Award, valued at €5,000, will go to one of the Greek projects taking part in the Thessaloniki Pitching Forum or Agora Docs in Progress.

Furthermore, six Greek projects that are currently at the post-production stage will participate in the Agora Lab, a complementary section to Docs in Progress that aims to support the local film industry. The teams behind the selected movies have the chance to gain guidance and advice from the tutors: Konstantinos Aivaliotis, co-founder and artistic director/programme coordinator of the Ethnofest - Athens Ethnographic Film Festival; Selin Murat, markets manager at IDFA; producer Ieva Ūbele (Baltic Balkan Productions); and Bonnie Williams, pitch and public speaking consultant at Speaking With Impact. The tutors will present one project with the Guidance Award, offered by Denmark’s Paradiddle Pictures.
