The Sarajevo Film Festival, which runs from 11-18 August this year, has announced the jury of its Competition Programme - Feature Film. Famous Australian-Polish actress Mia Wasikowska, most recently seen in Mia Hansen-Love's Bergman Island [+see also:

, will serve as the chair of the jury, and will be joined by three more actors and a curator.

Danish-Croatian actor Zlatko Burić was the winner of the 2022 European Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness [+see also:

. Prior to that, Burić was best known for his work on Nicolas Winding Refn's Pusher [+see also:

Another actor hailing from the Balkans who forged her career in Denmark, Serbian-born Danica Ćurčić, recently returned to her home region with roles in Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović's Murina [+see also:

won three awards at Locarno and went on to garner him the Hearts of Sarajevo for Best Film and Best Actor.

The jury is rounded off by Josh Siegel, curator at MoMA’s Department of Film.

“I’m thrilled to be serving as jury president for the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival alongside such wonderful members of the international arts community,” says Wasikowska. “It seems a particularly poignant time to reflect on the origins of the festival, and to celebrate the importance of coming together to promote a diverse range of cultures, perspectives and experiences through art.”
