- The new comedy by Francis Veber starring the couple Depardieu-Reno has taken French cinemas by storm, recording an audience of more than 1.5 million in less than 15 days

There’s been a remarkable theatrical debut for the new comedy by Francis Veber starring the couple Gérard Depardieu-Jean Reno. Ruby and Quentin was released on October 22, and it has already conquered first place at the French box office, with an audience of more than 1.5 million in just ten days.

It is currently being distributed by UFD in 680 prints, and the film has overtaken its competitors, registering an average audience of more than 1,000 per copy, and it’s strong showing has continued throughout the two weeks on release (registering a drop of just 2%). If this performance continues, it could mean that the film will be seen by around 3 million people in France. This excellent result is helping to maintain a market share of 35% for French productions, in spite of the slow start for France boutique by Tonie Marshall, starring Karine Viard and François Cluzet, which has registered ticket sales of 192,000 in its 5 days of release in 286 prints, distributed by Pyramide.

is continuing its successful run, distributed in 181 prints by Océan Films, and being seen by more than 1 million people in France. The film has only been seen by 12,000 people in 5 days of programming, for its total of 225 prints on release.
