Danish Docs in Amsterdam

by

The official programme of Amsterdam’s International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) will feature six Danish documentaries during the event, which is taking place from November 20-30, 2003.

Jeppe Røndes’ Jerusalem My Love will be shown as a world premiere in the “First Appearances” section, the festival’s competition programme. Jorge Leth and Lars von Trier’s The Five Obstructions, shown in Venice last September, will be presented in “Reflecting Images”, a section focusing on new forms of documentary film-making. Leth’s 1967 The Perfect Human, which was re-made by the director with five new variations under Lars von Trier’s guidelines to become The Five obstructions, will also be shown in “Reflecting Images”.
Three Danish children’s films will also screen at the IDFA’s “Kids & Docs” side-bar: Louise Deflefsen and Louise Kjeldsens’ From Barbie To Babe, Klaus Kjeldsens’ Two of Us and Ole Tornbjergs’ Arif Hossein-ETV, Dhaka.
