film profile], Paul Greengrass, has co-written and co-produced a new film based on a real life tragedy that took place in Northern Ireland: the Omagh bombing.
Twenty nine people died in the attack on August 15, 1998, and there were hundreds of injuries. The film will deal with the families’ struggle for justice and the actor, Gerard McSorley will play the father of one of the victims. Omagh will be directed by Pete Travis (Cold Feet), who will start filming in Dublin on December 1st.
The project is produced by Element Films’ Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe, with Arthur Lapping (founder of Hell’s Kitchen with Jim Sheridan) acting as executive producer.
