Loving Glances by Serbian director Srdjan Karanovic has won the awards for Best Screenplay and Best Music at the last Montecarlo International Film Festival.
This first in a series of co-productions between London-based F&ME and YODI Movie Craftsmen in Belgrade has already attracted an audience of over 40,000 people in Serbia and Montenegro and the international rights have already been licensed by BVIP to Italy, Scandinavia and the US. The film started its festival tour with Venice this year where the film was shown in competition, and other festival appointments in 2004 will include Istanbul, Sofia and Tallinn.

As one of the most active UK producers working with other European countries, F&ME has three Scandinavian projects in production and post-production. Fridrik Thor Fridriksson's Niceland is produced by Zik Zak Filmworks and stars Gary Lewis (Gangs of New York), Kerry Fox (Intimacy) and Martin Compston (Sweet Sixteen [+see also:

) is in post-production; the other Icelandic film: Cold Light by Hillmar Oddson is co-produced with the Icelandic Film Corporation and Germany's Lichtblick Film is now completed, and Strings [+see also:

, co-produced with Bald Films, Bob Films, Nordisk Film, Zentropa and Sandrews Metronome has also just finished shooting.

Future projects include Saul Metzstein's No-One Thinks of Greenland, co-produced with Nova Scotia's IMX Production and the Icelandic Film Corporation, and James Ellroy's Killer On The Road to be directed by Floria Sigismondi and produced in association with UK's Tartan Films .
