2 Achievement Awards

Carlo Di Palma and Claude Chabrol will each be given EFA Lifetime Achievement Awards in Berlin on December 6 during the ceremony for the European Film Awards. Carlo Di Palma started his film career as an assistant to Luchino Visconti and he has worked as a director of photography for world-famous directors like Gillo Pontecorvo, Michelangelo Antonioni and Sydney Lumet. In fact he has made 12 films with Woody Allen.

The French director, Claude Chabrol, started off writing for the Cahiers du Cinéma in the early 1950s before becoming one of the major forces behind the Nouvelle Vague style of cinema. To date, he has directed more than 60 films.
