Thessaloniki: the winners

The 44th edition of the International Film Festival in Thessaloniki has awarded the Golden Alessandro to the Russian film The Last Train by the young director Alexei Guerman Jr (27 years old).
The jury, led by the director Otar Iosselian, chose this action story set on the Russian front in 1944 out of the 16 films in competition (open solely to first and second works).

by Michelangelo Frammartino. The prize for Best Director went to the Argentinean, Celina Murga, for Ana y los otros, while two European films picked up the prizes for Best Actor and Actress, given respectively to Dorota Nvotova and Mario Kubas for the film Girlie by the Czech director Benjamin Tucek. There was a Special Mention for the French film by Siegrid Alnoy, Elle est des nôtres.
