Carsten Host at Thura Film


Carsten Holst who founded Zentropa Real in 2000 -Zentropa's documentary production arm- will join Thura Film as managing director and producer, starting January 1st, 2004.

Holst who used to be a personal assistant to Lars von Trier, has produced many quality documentaries at Zentropa Real, including Sami Saif's Dogs & Deer-Dogville Confessions and the Venice entry The Five Obstructions by Lars von Trier and Jørgen Leth.

Thura Films headed by Michael Obel is one of the most successful Danish production outfits with branches in Sweden, the UK and the US. The company made over 20 feature films since its creation in 1989 including the international hit Nightwatch by Ole Bornedal who is now part of the in-house production team. Last year, two Thura Film productions were amongst the top ten most popular Danish films of the year: the children film My Sister's Kids on The Snow (506,312 admissions) and the comedy Old Men In New Cars [+see also:
