was released in Swiss German cinemas on November 13 and it has now been nominated as Best Film at the 2004 Swiss Film Prizes, which will be awarded on January 21, during the Soleure Screenings. The director has already made a lot of short films and her debut in feature film making chronicles an adolescence filled with contrasting love stories. Straight after moving house, the young girl Sandra falls in love with her new neighbour, Mike. They soon discover that Sandra's father has secret meetings with a lover he met when he was young, Mike's mother. Little Girl Blue was screened in October at the 37th International Cinema Days in Hof (Germany), though it had its world premiere at the Locarno Festival in August this year. The soundtrack is by Balz Bachmann, who won the Swiss Music Prize for his compositions for the film, offered by the Suisa Foundation (the Swiss organisation for Authors' Rights). The composer also did the soundtrack for Summertime, a short film by Luif, which won international acclaim. Little Girl Blue is the first Swiss film made in high definition HD24 digital video.
