has won yet another award for Best Foreign Film 2003 from the San Francisco Film Critics Society Francisco (SFFCC).

Interpreted by Olivier Gourmet and Morgan Marinne, the film narrates the strange relationship that develops between a carpenter and his apprentice, a 15-year-old youth responsible for the death of his son. The film, which was produced by the Dardenne brothers’ own company (Les Films du Fleuve) in collaboration with the French Archipel 35, was presented at the official competition of Cannes in 2002, where it won the Best Actor award for Olivier Gourmet. Il Figlio also won the 2003 Lumière Award for Best French Language Film.
