New leading team at Screen Producers Ireland

Screen Producers Ireland (SPI), the main representative body for Irish film and television producers has appointed David McLoughlin as their new Chief Executive and Ronan McCabe as the new Chairman, in replacement of Larry Bass.
David McLoughlin will take a sabbatical leave from his position as Joint Executive and producer for Distinguished Features behind many award-winning films and documentaries including Dead Bodies and the documentary film Cinegael Paradiso recent winner of the Spirit of the Festival Award at the 2005 Celtic Film and TV Festival. McLoughlin also co-produced a number of BBC films such as Vicious Circle and The American when he was Head of production at Irish Screen.

As part of his new role at the SPI, McLoughlin will work in conjunction with the association’s Board on the devising and implementation of key policies to create a more favorable operating environment for the 225 SPI members and to lead the organization in seeking to foster a successful indigenous film & TV sector.
As for McCabe, he is the Head of production company Double Z Enterprises currently involved in many TV projects in Ireland, Britain and the USA.
